my kin (and my boyfriend)! John Egbert!!!! X3 John Egbert is the first character introduced in Homestuck. His birthday is April 13, and he was adopted and raised by his genetic half-brother who took the role of his Dad.
John's favorite movie is Armageddon and he loves Nicholas Cage. He has an obvious nerdy appearence with messy black hair and square black glasses. He also wears a t-shirt with a Japanese knock-off of slimer from Ghostbusters. His general interests are movies, magic tricks, ghosts, and programming (though he isn't very good at it). He also has a "rivalry" with Betty Crocker and knows how to play piano.
John tends to be a bit of a goofball, making bad jokes and using off-beat humor and subtle irony. He tends to be passive in nature, complying with commands not because they made logical sense, but because he was told to. His optimism through stalwart skepticism causes his friends think of him as the leader, while he prefers just being their friend.
