Uranus is the seventh planet from the sun. It was the first planet found using a telescope but was originally mistaken for a comet by William Herschel. It is called an "ice giant" by many scientists. It is primarily composed of hydrogen and helion but also contains other "ices" such as water, methane, and ammonia
Uranus is tilted on its axis at about 97.77 degrees making its rings appear to run vertically around the panet.
The name Uranus comes from the Greek deity of the sky; the father of Cronus (staurn in Roman myth) and grandfather of Zeus (Jupiter in Roman myth).
